I thought that I'd start a pre-order topic as I am very interested in getting a boxed version of this game when it goes ahead.
Any more info and interested parties could post here.

Thank you. But the fact of the matter is that I haven't really been coding on the game for nearly two months now (been doing a bit of low level research though).
I guess I just burned some of my passion away by focusing too much on the getting a good release out the door before Christmas. Also I neglected my university studies somewhat during this period.
But now I'm starting to feel the fire for coding again. So I'll get back to it soon.
Regarding the plans for selling a boxed version I can only say that I'd still love to do it of course, but it'll depend on getting enough preorders. Support for it hasn't been overwhelming so far, but we'll see once the offer becomes more concrete.
It's time to set the SH4 and CLX2 hearts on fire!

I think if you put the word out you'd get a healthy amount of pre-orders. So far as I know all you've posted to the regular spots (Consolevision, DCemulation) is that you might look into doing a packaged release. If you posted in their boards and other places like GameFAQs or Usenet when you feel like you're ready and set up some sort of pre-order form on your front page, I'm sure you'd get 200-400 orders.
I know I'm definitely interested in pre-ordering. I can't wait for the next DRxLax release and a commercial quality version would the perfect way to celebrate it. It seems like the dreamcast scene iss moving that way anyway with stuff like Feets of Fury and Mike Siecieska's Motocross.
Either way, though, keep up the good work. If you incorporate half the things you've talked about here, DRxLax could easily become one of the top three homebrew DC games in my opinion.

I'm up for buying this kick ass game, but heres a few things that you should look into before taking pre-orders:
1)Promise the orderded copy (version 1.0 I'm assuming) 1 month before it is available for download on the site. I'm all up for free stuff and I would still buy it if it was released simultaneously, it just would help push extra sales out and make the supercool people who bought it feel even more cool for a whole month.
2)Decide on how many copies exactly you are printing. The bonus of having the disk # on each is a great idea... but I think it would be even better if it said "#399 of 500" rather than just "#399", this will make it look much more official and prove that its rare on the disk. Imagine if you had a shenmue disk that said "#9" on it, you can't deduce much from that... it would obviously be amazing to own if it caid"ltd edition copy disk #9/10". Setting a bar would let people know that once 'insert number here' is reached, they missed out for good and those who got it know just how authentic it is. Great idea with the signature aswell.
3)Set up pre orders far ahead of time with exact information. I'm willing to buy this game cause I love it so much, but if people are a little indecisive than it will give them time and a good idea of exactly what they are getting. Post pics of a concept set or of the first complete set to show everyone. It would also allow people to put aside whatever cash needed ahead of time (what price range are we looking at anyways?)
Just trying to help support the #1 homebrew DC game.
Thanks for the hard work and please keep it up
